History

Founding and Inspiration

Pure Insanity Society was founded in 2020 by a group of passionate candy enthusiasts, Viking history buffs, and culinary daredevils who wanted to create a unique space that blended modern spice challenges with ancient Viking traditions. The idea was inspired by the Viking warriors’ legendary strength, endurance, and mysterious relationship with nature’s elements, especially fire and heat. And to honor the brave warriors that manage Pure Insanity X2 (PIX2).

The founders sought to honor the power and spirit of the Vikings by incorporating elements of Norse mythology, Viking rituals, and ancient traditions into the modern concept of spicy challenges. The website was designed as a platform where participants could push their boundaries in a way that mirrors the challenges faced by Viking warriors—combining physical endurance with a sense of ancient mysticism and power.

Features

Viking-Inspired Spicy Challenges

At the heart of Pure Insanity Society are its spicy candy challenges, which are uniquely designed to reflect the fierce, bold, and powerful spirit of Viking warriors. These challenges often combine extreme spice levels with elements of Viking mythology, storytelling, and ritual. Some popular challenges include:

  • Sleipnir: This godlike chocolate bar has a pretty hot filling with Carolina Reaper & Ghost Pepper wrapped in with wonderful dark chocolate (70%) with a whopping weight of 250g (8.818oz). Perfect start for you who want to try a chilli challenge for the first time.
  • Draugr: Each lolli contains about 2 Carolina Reapers. While enjoying this hot and sour lollipop, do not forget the “Do Not Drool” rule! If so then you lose and could end up on a drawing.
  • Helheim: 666 seconds can you survive it? This wicked fudge contains 12 Carolina Reaper and 12 Ghost Pepper and 12 Habanero with a filling of peppermint and raspberry.
  • Hekla: the worlds hottest caramel! As hot as eating lava from “Hekla” the volcano. The Vikings called it the Gateway to Helheim. This challenge contains 50 Carolina Reapers. You got 5 min to eat and 5 min afterburn. Complete the challenge and earn 50 Insanity Points.
  • Ragnarok: Toughest challenge unlike any other the world has yet seen. This chocolate bar is like eating the core of the Earth (hot as hell), even the gods of Asgard can’t handle it. Do you really think you can handle this mighty bar?

These challenges are designed to be not only tests of spice endurance but also symbolic acts of courage, strength, and perseverance, reminiscent of the trials faced by Viking warriors.
